The picture was out the front window overlooking the water. Here's a picture I took I think last summer of the same spot..........

The day just didn't seem to end for me after the funeral, in fact, I just wanted to stay in the church and listen to the great memories that all of you had. I knew it had to end.The cemetery service was just immediate family-all 50 of us I think, but somehow comforting. After, our young people were invited to stay awhile and see their Ancester's monuments, and this they did, and ended up taking some pictures. We are glad they came. A cemetery should be a friendly, familiar place, not some fictional, scary spot.
On the way home, I asked Jim to swing by the Cemetery one more time. It felt warmer there than earlier, and peaceful. The workman were gone. Of course the flowers were not right, and I fidgeted with them for the last time. I picked up 3 roses which had been dropped, and the petals came off in my hand, so I sprinkled them around the site, re-set the wreath for the third time, and then took some pictures.Once these show some results then she will have to get moving in rehab. Right now she does not have enough strength to eat properly. Over the past few weeks Mom has had some peaks and some valleys in this whole ordeal- but overall she has had a decline in her overall status.
My impression is that Mom remains in good spirits but is getting very tired. This has been a long process and it is taking it's toll.

I happened on this in the Parade magazine that comes with our Sunday paper.I think the lesson is..........question everything and educate yourself on all aspects of treatment.
And have a large enough family to take care of this all.........Did I ever tell you how great my sisters and brother are?
I am thankful for each one of them, how they take such tender care of our Mom, of each other, and our families.

This is Mama and her new best friend. I was referring to her pillow, but a close second is her nurse, Gregg, who looked after her right after she came out of surgery. Her blood pressure wanted to go up and down and I am sure we are happy to have had his expert care.I stayed the night and sent everyone else home. The night was pretty quite- the staff began getting her off the vent about 5AM- at 6AM they drew a blood gas and it was below the number to remove the vent. By 8:30 those numbers were OK and by 9AM she was breathing on her own.
Marlene showed up about 9:30 and I am home getting a little rest now. Mom was getting Greg the Nurse used to setting up her pillows! He was talking about rolling her on her side.........She is hoarse but otherwise Mom............

Marlene bumped into the Doctor who's managing Mom's breathing and found out the following.
Don't try to call her room yet.......
