The day just didn't seem to end for me after the funeral, in fact, I just wanted to stay in the church and listen to the great memories that all of you had. I knew it had to end.The cemetery service was just immediate family-all 50 of us I think, but somehow comforting. After, our young people were invited to stay awhile and see their Ancester's monuments, and this they did, and ended up taking some pictures. We are glad they came. A cemetery should be a friendly, familiar place, not some fictional, scary spot.
On the way home, I asked Jim to swing by the Cemetery one more time. It felt warmer there than earlier, and peaceful. The workman were gone. Of course the flowers were not right, and I fidgeted with them for the last time. I picked up 3 roses which had been dropped, and the petals came off in my hand, so I sprinkled them around the site, re-set the wreath for the third time, and then took some pictures.Since the pictures were a comfort to my brothers and sisters, I will post one for all of you.
I think now its the end of the day.
Good night, all
Sharon

Thanks for the photo and post, Sharon. I cried the first time I saw it and am doing so again as I type.
While it was the end from our perspective, her life and legacy live on through each of us. A virtuous woman - there's not a more fitting description.
Thanks, Grandma for the memories - there's lots of them....
* The glorified rice (gosh I love that stuff!)
* Picking morels and berries on the Arnold Lake Road property. We always ate the berries while we picked, but she made sure we had enough for homemade jelly.
* The visits to Florida.
* Peanut butter fudge...sorry Dad, she was actually making it for me! ;)
* Watching you take a shot from the back porch at some deer while you were making me breakfast. You missed, but I thought it was a hoot!
* The many prayers for Sarah and her heart condition, when it seemed as though no one cared. I know they helped.
* Your last trip to Florida to see Mandy graduate. The goodbye was especially tough because I wondered if it would be the last. I'm so thankful I was able to see you again before you left us.
Thanks for everything, Grandma! We love you.

I was looking for and address to send Greig a christmas card and ran across this tribute to your mom. I'm so sorry to hear that she has passed. She was a very kind woman. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I worked with Greig about 15 years ago. With sympathy, Colleen O'Connell-Fix
