Our mom loved the woods and especially loved the deer woods. Mom was proud of two of her great grandsons, Jake and Alex, each connecting with their first deer this fall. In the hospital she just beamed when told the news of each of these special events.
Jake connected with his bow and gave the deer a sporting chance taking it on the second shot. You'll have to talk to him to get the full story. This at 11 years old!

Alex shot his during the youth firearm hunt- I think with the same gun his dad shot his first deer with........sounds like another tradition! Alex is 14 years old........

You go, Alex & Jacob! I know how proud Grandma is of you both.
We are enjoying the Christmas season with our "Christmas looking" tree from the funeral home, which we have dubbed the Grandma Grey tree. We put some lights on it (I think it's a Norwegian pine?) and it's on the landing of our stairs (up behind a gate, out of Vincent's reach). We look at it and think often of her.
