Home tonight

This week has been busy for me and I am now writing from home in Manistee. Jim came and got me this morning. It is good to get home but my heart is back in a busy hospital wing in Midland with much of the rest of my family. I will return on Monday if all goes well, I will try to stop Greig from bringing in a crockpot of venison, stop Susan from writing frankly snippy notes on the chalk board even though they were deserved, keep Marlene from ordering a helicopter if we wait over 14 hours for one more doctor, and keep Creig writing his great notes in our 'Blob. We try to keep our spirits up and keep Mama's up, which is sometimes tough at such a serious time. We feel the support of not only each other, but of all of you with your prayers and support.

Do sign up and let us know you are out there and send a message to Mama, she just loves it and looks forward to your posts and your cards. Thank you so much. If you have a Mom, give her a hug for me.

I learned something about Sharon this week: Never wash your clothes with hers if you have money in your pockets! The phrase "what's yours is mine, what's mine is mine" has never resonated so strongly with me....I'm now $3 short. She did offer to loan me back MY money, with interest. THANKS LOADS! ;) Actually, the money was hers to begin with (I don't carry denominations that small!), but it was certainly fun to tease her about the whole thing. Thanks for being such a good sport, Sharon!

Gramma just wanted to let you know that once again the "postal service" failed to make a delivery. Mom and I forgot all about the card for Sarah....which is still in Mom's purse. I'd bring it up to her, but she'd go probably "postal" on me. Please remind her to mail it. Sarah will be "so pleased with her."

Greig, Dad, and I discovered that "poetry" adds a great dimension to hospital chatter. I'll be coordinating soon with Greig and we'll post some of our efforts. OK, maybe not, but....

Sharon/Mom: I finally figured out that wetland plant that's so similar to Queen Anne's Lace. It's mock bishop's-weed (Ptilimnium capillaceum). Another related one (and very poisonous) is water hemlock (Cicuta maculata). So, there's your botany lesson for the day!

I love you, Gramma and had a wonderful time with you and the family. Take care. I've got many folks here praying for you.

From the Florida wing of the Grey family, this is Art signing off.
