Encouragement

I got a chance to talk to Doctor Jones, the surgeon who preformed Mom's surgery. He said everything looks good right now but made several suggestions;

• Encourage Mom that she is doing well
• Encourage Mom to use the breathing machine and to use it properly
• Encourage Mom to get moving- when her program calls for her to move

I stayed the night and sent everyone else home. The night was pretty quite- the staff began getting her off the vent about 5AM- at 6AM they drew a blood gas and it was below the number to remove the vent. By 8:30 those numbers were OK and by 9AM she was breathing on her own.

Marlene showed up about 9:30 and I am home getting a little rest now. Mom was getting Greg the Nurse used to setting up her pillows! He was talking about rolling her on her side.........She is hoarse but otherwise Mom............
